Marines with Bravo Company, 2nd Platoon, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct a live fire exercise with members of the Omanian Army April 11. This range focused on fire and maneuver and buddy rushes, helping the Marines stay sharp on the importance of good communication and the use of hand and arm signals.

Cpl Hagan Hunter, 21-years-old from Dallas, TX, and Cpl Kristopher Anderson, 25-years-old from Gainesville, GA, both squad leaders with Bravo Company, 2nd Platoon, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, perform a live fire exercise with during a training range April 11. This range allowed the Marines maintain their marksmanship skills while deployed with the 24th MEU.

Ganz schön häßlich das Teil, da sah das kürzlich in Afghanistan von Special Forces eingesetzte SRSS wesentlich besser aus.

@Dave: Gibt es dazu nähere Infos zu dieser Einheit!? Schließlich ist die Luftwaffe seit 15 Jahren damit betraut eine CSAR Truppe zu stellen, hat es aber bisher nicht für nötig gehalten, so dass zumindest bis vor 3 Jahren die "obercoolen CSAR-Kommandos" mit dem Ausbildungsstand einer durchschnittlichen PzGren-AGA mit uns auf ner Übung rumgesteuert sind.

Hat sich da mittlerweile mal Ausrüstung- und Ausbildungstechnisch was getan, so dass man die Jungs mal zu mehr gebrauchen kann als vor ner Airbase Wache zu schieben!?

Falls die Bugs kommen. wink.gif Naja für Amis ist sowas schon attraktiv, ein M14 aus dem Arsenal kostet die keine U$D20 das Stück und das noch nicht mal mit echtem Geld bezahlt sondern mit Verrechnungsdollar. Und kompakter als im Originalzustand, arsenalgepflegt ist es auch.

US einheiten haben zwei Budgets: eines mit echtem Geld um alles mögliche zu bezahlen von ZF für alle bis hin zu Wandfarbe oder was auch immer sonst so anfällt und nicht in deren TO&E steht und ein Budget aus "Dollars" die nur dazu dienen Dinge aus dem Versorgungsystem zu beziehen aber normalerweise nicht auf ihrter Liste stehen. M14 zum Beispiel können für einen geringen "Preis" angefordert werden. Weshalb man dann auch Einheit A mit M14 als DMR sieht, eine andee benutzt M110, wieder eine andere ganz was anderes.
