Mariniers oefenen anti-terreur in Rotterdam
James Bond achtige taferelen in de Rotterdamse haven. Een handjevol gemaskerde mannen zorgde voor commotie in de havenstad. Het waren geen acteurs in een Hollywoodfilm, maar special force mariniers bezig met de anti-terreuroefening Gatorex. De Netherlands Maritime Special Operations Force (NLMARSOF) organiseerde de spectaculaire oefening. Bij scheeps- en offshorewerf Keppel Verolme werd een gijzelingsactie op een booreiland nagebootst. Aan de oefening deden naast de NLMARSOF ook Zr.Ms. De Zeven Provinciën, eenheden van de Dienst Speciale Interventies (DSI) en de Explosieven Opruimingsdienst (EOD) mee. Andere deelnemers waren bestuurders van de FRISC (SATG), 860 Squadron (NH90 helikopters) en ambulance personeel (GHOR).
