Sicher? Die unteren Bilder dürften nen IV zeigen zumindest der Turmform nach. Der III sieht anders aus.
Irgendwo hab ich mal gelesen das es garnicht so selten ist das die älteren Merkavas mit neuen gemischt sind die alten sind meist mit Reservisten besetzt die auf den Teilen ausgebildet sind.

Danke dir, diese Version kannte ich gar nicht, mit solcher Zusatzpanzerung kannte ich nur die Merkava IIIbaz und Merkava IV, und erstere haben den Nebelwerfer markant an der äusseren Kante, daher meine Schlussfolgerung.

Ich dachte ja auch, dass die Israelis aufgehört haben, ihre Munition direkt ungeschützt neben den PzHs zu lagern. 2006 haben sie das ja auch erst gemacht, bis die Hizbollah dort mal einen Treffer mit den entsprechenden Folgen erziehlt hat.

Aber vielleicht trauen sie Hamas in der Hinsicht auch weniger zu.

Die Waffe hat einen recht sanften Rückstoß. Gab sie auch als Ringlafetten-Waffe für einen Humvee oder M113

Alle Doher haben doch diesen erhöhte Kommandeursturm, das ist doch eines der äußerlichen Unterscheidungsmerkmale zum Rochev.


Ja, die Kommandantenkuppel wurde, neben anderen Dingen, modifiziert. Aber die abgebildete Kuppel scheint mir wesentlich höher zu sein als die ursprüngliche Modifikation.

Wobei das auch an der Bildgröße und der Perspektive liegen könnte... mata.gif

Edit: Zu welcher Einheit / Truppengattung gehören die Soldaten in den Geländewagen? Solche Fotos sind recht selten, die Infanterie ist ja zumeist in (H)APCs unterwegs (mal von Patrouillen im Westjordanland abgesehen). Und der Soldat mit dem M16 dürfte Reservist sein oder hat die aktive Truppe noch M16? Kampfunterstützer vielleicht?

Sie sind doch relativ sicher. Sie sind auf eigenem Boden. Sämtliche Hamas Leute, die durch die Tunnels nach Israel kommen, werden schon vorher abgefangen. Die Raketen gehen über die Köpfe der Panzer hinweg. Wahrscheinlich können die nicht kürzer schießen, als so wie sie derzeit eingesetzt werden. Abgesehen davon, dass die Hamas gar nicht weiß, wo genau die Panzer herum stehen. Die IDF weiß sehr genau was die machen.

Es sind schon Raketen aus dem Gaza-Streifen im Gaza-Streifen gelandet, die können schon kurz fallen. Und Mörser sowieso, das israelische Opfer wurde ja z.B. direkt am Grenzübergang getötet. Und die Hamas weiß sogar ganz sicher, wo die Panzer stehen. Das ist a) ziemlich plattes Land da unten, b) haben die Israelis rundherum vorbereitete Feuerstellungen und Basen, c) sieht man diese Staubfahnen ewig weit und d) kann sich da einfach ein Palästinenser mit israelischer Staatsbürgerschaft daneben stellen und die Koordinaten zur Not per whatsapp reingeben.

Ich denke man wird diese Stellungen schlicht nicht sicher treffen können. Man hat ja schon mit Zielen von der Größe einer Stadt arge Probleme.
