Im USMC IAR (Infantry Automatic Rifle)-Programm sind nur noch 3 Anbieter im Rennen:
-Colt IAR -FN IAR (auf SCAR-Basis) -H&K (leider kein Foto des IAR-Vorschlags vorhanden) ZITAT FN Herstal, S.A., Herstal, Belgium, is being awarded a five year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with possible delivery orders up to $27,900,000 for the production, delivery, and associated support of the Marine Corps’ Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR). The IAR will be a light weight, magazine fed, 5.56 mm weapon which will enhance the automatic rifleman’s maneuverability and displacement speed while providing the ability to suppress or destroy not only area targets, but point targets as well. The IAR is planned to replace the M249 Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW) currently employed by automatic riflemen within Infantry and Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalions. Although four contracts will be made initially, delivery orders will be awarded for samples. First Article, spare/repair parts, and various support services; and, eventually one of the four contractors may be awarded delivery orders for up to 6,500 IARs. FN Herstal’s production facility is in Herstal, Belgium. Delivery of contract line items will be as stated on applicable delivery orders. Contractfunds will be obligated in multiple delivery orders. This contract was competitively procured. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity (M67854-09-D-1037). Heckler and Koch Defense, Inc., Ashburn, Va., is being awarded a five year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with possible delivery orders up to $23,600,000 for the production, delivery, and associated support of the Marine Corps’ Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR). The IAR will be a light weight, magazine fed, 5.56 mm weapon which will enhance the automatic rifleman’s maneuverability and displacement speed while providing the ability to suppress or destroy not only area targets, but point targets as well. The IAR is planned to replace the M249 Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW) currently employed by automatic riflemen within Infantry and Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalions. Was passiert denn jetzt wenn eine Gruppe U.S.-Soldaten in die Verlegenheit kommt Deckungsfeuer geben zu müssen und den Feind niederzuhalten? Das kommt sicher auch im OHK nicht selten vor. Mit dem IAR fehlt diese Fähigkeit einfach. Die US Army hält ja explizit nichts davon, gilt also nur für das USMC Die Überlegungen im Corps gehen wohl dahin, dass in den Einheiten, die das IAR bekommen, pro Zug zwei Gruppen mit dem IAR ausgerüstet werden (6 Waffen) und die dritte Gruppe das M249 behält (3 Waffen) und so primär als Deckungsgruppe für die anderen beiden Gruppen fungieren kann. Wenn man den drei Deckungsgruppen pro Kompanie dann noch jeweils zwei M240 aus dem Waffenzug unterstellt, hat man immer noch die Möglichkeit, ein ganz brauchbares Deckungsfeuer zu geben, wenn es denn nötig sein sollte. Man hat aber auch festgestellt, dass im OHK ein SAW-Schütze üblicherweise kein Deckungsfeuer gegen Flächenziele gibt, sondern nur einzelne Fenster oder Türen überwacht - das könnte ein IAR aber genau so gut, ohne dabei die Nachteile des SAW im OHK zu haben. Von wo nimmst Du die Aussage mit den drei M249 pro Zug? Was ich gelesen habe, will man einfach das M249 noch als Alternativausrüstung behaltung. Im Übrigen werden ja auch die M240-Trupps aus dem Weapons Platoon an die Kampfzüge abgegeben bzw. unterstellt. Aber kommt es nicht gerade im OHK auch schnell mal vor das die Züge getrennt werden? Für grösseren Ortkampf ist eh besser, wenn man Truppen der Army nimmt. Sind besser ausgerüstet und auch nicht schlechter ausgebildet. Aber kommt es nicht gerade im OHK auch schnell mal vor das die Züge getrennt werden? Für grösseren Ortkampf ist eh besser, wenn man Truppen der Army nimmt. Sind besser ausgerüstet und auch nicht schlechter ausgebildet. Beim USMC hat man einfach den Vorteil, dass die besser geübt sind im Kampf der verbundenen Waffen, v.a. auch was Luftunterstützung betrifft, hat jedoch mit der Organisation des USMC bzw. der Army zu tun. Ich glaube kaum dass ide Amerikaner hier derartige Unterschiede machen, siehe Falludscha.
