Im USMC IAR (Infantry Automatic Rifle)-Programm sind nur noch 3 Anbieter im Rennen:
-Colt IAR -FN IAR (auf SCAR-Basis) -H&K (leider kein Foto des IAR-Vorschlags vorhanden) ZITAT FN Herstal, S.A., Herstal, Belgium, is being awarded a five year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with possible delivery orders up to $27,900,000 for the production, delivery, and associated support of the Marine Corps’ Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR). The IAR will be a light weight, magazine fed, 5.56 mm weapon which will enhance the automatic rifleman’s maneuverability and displacement speed while providing the ability to suppress or destroy not only area targets, but point targets as well. The IAR is planned to replace the M249 Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW) currently employed by automatic riflemen within Infantry and Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalions. Although four contracts will be made initially, delivery orders will be awarded for samples. First Article, spare/repair parts, and various support services; and, eventually one of the four contractors may be awarded delivery orders for up to 6,500 IARs. FN Herstal’s production facility is in Herstal, Belgium. Delivery of contract line items will be as stated on applicable delivery orders. Contractfunds will be obligated in multiple delivery orders. This contract was competitively procured. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity (M67854-09-D-1037). Heckler and Koch Defense, Inc., Ashburn, Va., is being awarded a five year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with possible delivery orders up to $23,600,000 for the production, delivery, and associated support of the Marine Corps’ Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR). The IAR will be a light weight, magazine fed, 5.56 mm weapon which will enhance the automatic rifleman’s maneuverability and displacement speed while providing the ability to suppress or destroy not only area targets, but point targets as well. The IAR is planned to replace the M249 Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW) currently employed by automatic riflemen within Infantry and Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalions. The IAR will be a light weight, magazine fed, 5.56 mm weapon which will enhance the automatic rifleman’s maneuverability and displacement speed while providing the ability to suppress or destroy not only area targets, but point targets as well. Ich hab den ganzen Thread hier jetzt noch mal gelesen. Trotzdem verschließt sich mir das taktische Konzept.
Was dieses IAR darstellt ist doch ein simples StGw mit Bipod und Option für größere Magazine, oder? Die Magazine gibts heute schon und wenn die Dauerfeuer- Option das Entscheidende sein soll, warum dann nicht das Minimi Para mit dem kürzeren Lauf? Da muss man ja nicht die 200- Schuß- Box dransetzen, der 100er Stoffsack ginge ja auch. Vor allem hat man da noch mal Gewicht zur Kompensation des Dauerfeuers. Wenn man "nur" eine leichtere Waffe will, dann verzichtet man doch sinnvollerweise auf das Dauerfeuer und bleibt bei der Feuerstoß- Option der Sturmgewehre. (30 Schuß zähle ich da eher als Feuerstoß denn als "automatic fire") Wenn man Erfahrungen gemacht hat, die das klassische lMG überflüssig erscheinen lassen, ok. Aber dann wärs konsequent, nur StGw beizubehalten. Wenn dieses HK- Modell nun in der Truppe Einzug hält dann ist es doch nur konsequent, demnächst komplett auf HK416 umzustellen. Colt scheint ja nichts Brauchbares mehr im Sortiment zu haben. Was ist denn technisch am IAR anders als am HK416? Ich stelle mir das vor wie G36 vs. lMG36. Trotz sorgfältigem Lesen hier, ich verstehe das Konzept nicht... -------------------- Das staendige Nachgeben der Klugen begruendet die Diktatur der Dummen.
