Das stimmt. 1983 wurden bereits 450.000 Basij an die Front geschickt. Deutlich weniger als die Hälfte, vielleicht 1/3, dürften das Kriegsende erlebt haben. Aufgrund der knappen Ausbildung (einmal erklärt, wie man ungefähr schiesst und ab an die Front) und da nicht zuletzt auch die Waffen knapp waren,
wurde nicht wenige von denen bei sogenannten "human waves" verheizt.
